Adaptation AGORA is thrilled to announce the publication of its Digital Handbook, “Voices of Climate Adaptation.”
Intended as the definitive final product, this interactive, multimedia website serves as a comprehensive, accessible, and exploitable resource, consolidating all the knowledge generated throughout the project’s citizen engagement journey into local climate adaptation pathways across Europe. The “Voices of Climate Adaptation” handbook is designed to be the ultimate reference for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers seeking to implement effective climate adaptation strategies. It rigorously gathers and integrates all the lessons learned and successful methodologies validated across Adaptation AGORA’s four European pilot regions: Germany, Sweden, Spain, and Italy.
Drawing inspiration from the stories and pathways of the project’s protagonists, the resource provides a clear, step-by-step guide on how to co-design and co-implement resilient solutions for climate change challenges in diverse urban contexts.
The website was designed to offer multiple levels of navigation.
The first level revolves around the main themes addressed by the project, which build on specific experiences to open broader topics of interest for those working on local adaptation processes. The second level of navigation invites users to explore the individual experiences of each pilot region, where a tailored narrative has been developed based on the topics addressed, the stakeholders involved, and the results achieved. The final level of navigation provides direct access to the voices of the protagonists, through a gallery that brings together their insights and perspectives. To ensure a shared and consistent understanding of the topics, a glossary is linked throughout the platform via the navigation keywords.
This extensive knowledge integration was made possible by the collaborative spirit of the entire Adaptation AGORA community, whose collective voice is at the heart of this story.
The Adaptation AGORA team extends sincere thanks to the project Followers who tested and provided feedback on early methodologies and tools, and to all stakeholders, citizens, scientists, and local authorities whose active engagement ensured the website’s content is practical, relevant, and grounded in real-world application.
The handbook is specifically structured to ensure the transferability and scale-up of Adaptation AGORA’s results, creating a tangible legacy for the project and supporting the longevity and impact of the EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change well beyond the project’s conclusion.
